Its a fantastic system, yes - for a "stock" B6T? not ideal when there are much easier and cheaper solutions. When you are running a turbo well over 400cfm or you need electronic ignition control - go for the Haltech, or check out Megasquirt as a budget standalone solution.

Should be okay if you don't grenade it too badly... it is too much power for the transmission, but it will last a few months if you aren't shredding tires at every stop light and pushing it excessively.

Having the mounts and the clutch will help, but that won't really do much for the case flexing when it feels like it. With enough grip/traction/stability from the mounts, suspension, clutch, engine, and management system, the limiting reagent will still be the transmission's integrity, especially at close to 200HP.

Have a look at this quotation from the Manual Transmission Swap Thread:

"Now you are asking, “What if I really want to get on it every once in awhile?” Here are some suggestions for max horsepower to place through these transmissions based on being somewhat rough, not babying but not thrashing. For the E-series transmission, I would put the max at somewhere from 80-100 HP. For the F-series, I would put the max between 140-180 HP. For the G-series, the max has not been truly defined, but I would guess somewhere around 250-300 HP, though it has been seen to withstand over 400 in a daily driver. Remember, these numbers are just suggestions for the festiva. Since the festiva is a lighter car, it does not put as much stress on the transmission as would a heavier car. If you are planning on carrying extra weight, I would lower these numbers accordingly."

You're also going to have to mitigate the unequal length axles, and a limited-slip differential won't cure those woes, but they are available... Phantom Grip makes those insert ones with the springs. Reading up on that transmission link will also help with traction... the final drive differentials make a HUGE difference between the 323/MX-3 zippy transmission and the top speed/cruiser transmissions in the Escort Pony and Protege.

I agree with this. It makes no sense to not use the stock B6T equipment here... it's 90% of the reason this swap is manageable. Yes, our SOHC non-turbo B-series stuff sucks on boost without assistance from fuel management, but the DOHC Turbo stuff is designed to handle this. Knock crap, boost crap, everything. With a boost gauge, maybe a wideband, and a chipped ECU, your car is primed and ready for anything between 7 and 16PSI on your motor. No standalones, piggybacks, wiring hacks, FMUs, VAF mods, or any nonsense required. As my grandfather always said, "Save 100%; Buy Nothing."

Thanks a lot for the info! I don't really car about my freeway rpm at all I'm just looking for something that will handle the power and I didn't want to do the g series swap (haven ead much) but I thought u had to cut the body to fit that tranny like an escort gt tranny. Correct me if I'm wrong. And do the g and f series share the same mount placment bc I already have a modded x member for the f series.

I attempted to do what you are doing. Here is my advise. I spent over 2 weeks trying to make it work by piggy backing computers wiring/ tracing wires ect. In the end I just went to a wrecking yard and pulled a complete harness from a festy and did a full swap. Its a pain bc u have to take most of the interior out including the dash to make it simpler. But the end result is a clean harness and no stray wires. I payed 40$ for the entire harness bc junk yards don't think festivas have any value. If u can't find a full harness I can get one from a junk yard for u but I will have to sell it for problay around 100$ bc I'm gunna spend a fiew hours getting it out of the car. Plus the cost of the harness and I will ship it for free.

                    Ok question for the swap....
Can I use xr2 cv axles and the halfshaft assembly with aspire hubs?
Are they the same spline count and size?
                    Are they the correct legnth?
