  • Gomez's Aqua '91 build w/pics to start

I picked this car up today. It was the project of an old man that died a while back in Columbus. His son sold it to the guy I just bought it from. Anyway, it came with the engine in the pics below (I think it is a BP w/ ecm), power steering rack, an aspire swap, rear discs and custom mounts seen in the pics, I believe FMS springs, white wing with caps, Escort seats (I think), tinted windows, Really nice Grant steering wheel, and lots more. The old man died mid project so some of the stuff is missing. Body is 99% rust free, 99% dent free. All for $275

Is this an Aspire front end?

A quick pic of the rear discs and mount. Any idea what these are off of?

A couple really bad pics of the BP? What do you think it is?

This build is going to take a long time. A very long time. Probably 2-3 yrs or so. I will keep posting any work that I do assembly wise.

Nice score! Yes those look like aspire front brakes, and that is a B6-D not a BP.

Thanks Fred. Interesting to know. I now have to look up what I will need to finish the engine swap.

Plus it has the two Phillips screws for removing the rotor from the front, the way God intended.

With rear discs and a B6D, this probably came out of a Capri. The front brakes might be from the same Capri. Are they 100 or 114 bolt pattern? 100 = Aspire, 114 = Capri.

I was kind of wondering if they were EGT or Capri brakes all around. The motor kind of makes me think Capri now. I will have to go measure the hubs. The guy had seats also. They are already modded and fit into the car. I will try and take a pic of them. That may be the answer there.

Thanks guys. I just wish that funds and the lack of a garage at present didn't force it to be a 3 yr project.

I did find a complete parts car that I may use for interior, misc, and mtx parts for $200. Will be picking it up next week.

^ yeah evidently I deleted them accidentally from Photobucket. That was before I used folders. Must have happened when I was reorganizing.
