another Festiva trailer...

After thinking to myself about my up coming camping trip and how cramped it was paking for a week long trip last year, with the addition of my micro-mini potbelly piglet, that is coming with us on out trip, I needed a way to free up some space in the car hot her. I had a 90 L plus that was stripped and rusted out beyond repair just sitting around. A Festiva trailer kills two birds with one stone. If the civic guys can do it, so can I. With a budget of $200, there was no way of getting a nice enclosed trailer that would hold enough to make it worth buying. I have a steel company just down the street from my work that does not mind small orders and ive bought from them in the past with amazing prices. I'll keep updating as I get further along.

Looks like a good start! That's where I'll cut mine, but I'm planning on cutting off the roof, too. Maybe your project will change my mind.

It is surprisingly balanced. I can use one hand on the bumper and level it out to move it around.

Pull a tank switch from a late 80's, early 90's F-150 with dual tanks, run wiring with a plug and a fuel line with a quick disconnect and use the extra fuel tank in the trailer.

If you're not using it for camping all the time, a direct chain driven 10hp lawnmower engine will propel a festiva at 60mph on the highway. Decent way to get awesome fuel economy cruising on the highway, and still carry extra storage space, since the engine won't need much of its own space.

My plan is to cut roof and floor leaving a point. Framing it in and covering front to form point for more space and aerodynamics. Maybe cover the whole front in diamond plate.
