Sir, I think your dog may have caught something...he's lost all his hairs but a few, and his nose has flattened.

Pulled the trailer to my work today to work on the lighting. I pulley it about 5 miles. Didn't get above 50 mph. I couldn't even feel it back there. Aside from a little sluggishness, it was extremely smooth. No sway or wiggle.

Now fit the Festiva trailer's gas tank drain plug with a petcock so you can open it to drain the gas, into a gas can. Then you could theoretically drive 800+ miles without ever stopping at a gas station!

Or, pull the tank and build a lower floor out of treated plywood, to hold more stuff (including a couple of five-gallon gas cans). There will be a hump for the axle, but in front of it and behind it, where the spare tire well is, can all be lower since you don't need room for a muffler anymore.

Instead of the plywood, you could build and weld in a steel box, for more structural integrity.

If you keep the speed at or below 55, air drag will be minimal. Does the Festy that's doing the pulling have upgraded brakes? And for that matter, a bigger motor than stock?

Yes and yes b6 with many mods, and full aspire swap with 205/60/15s. The tank is already gone. At some point down the road i will need to fix rust on the framerails that the swingarm mounts, so for now, I'm going to leave the coverages I tac welded in place and eventually after the rust repair, cut out and drop the floor.
