  • Going Turbo! Someday.

Alright fellas I did not think I would ever come to this but things fell into place and I'm working on turboing my BP! I plan for this to be a very very slow build as it isn't that important to me and money needs to go towards different things first.

I've never done anything with turbos in the past, so I literally know nothing about them! I've been reading a lot about them on the web and reading some builds here. I've learned a lot! But I will still have many many questions.

    So what I've got now-

Turbo- T3 Airesearch Saab 900 turbo
Manifold- Should be getting a BP26 manifold soon (can't believe I sold the one I had dang!)
Intercooler- I have a Mitsubishi intercooler (don't know if it is the one I will use yet.

And that's it! I still have a long way to go but I think I'm on my way having 3 of the main components.

So this thread will be my slow turbo build and updates on Nancy!

Pick up a copy of Corkie Bell's Maximum Boost, its considered the Bible of boosting.
Because you have to be able to use real info, not just hoping everyone you read on the forums are shooting you straight.

Yeah I'm looking for an F or G series currently. Probably F series. It's a small turbo and I plan on keeping the car more of a daily then a track car.

Join up on some other forums, mostly just as a shadow. MiataTurbo, ClubProtege, HomemadeTurbo, JunkYardTurbo for example. Most are capable of assisting either/both 1.8L BP builds and economical self-turbofication. HMT and JYT are particularly awesome, but the for sale sections of the two former ones will be your winning ticket in the boost market.

Welcome to Miata Turbo, home to the largest turbo Mazda Miata MX-5 following and Turbo Kitten.

HomemadeTurbo.com - The DIY source for Turboing your ride

In my case, I also added MX-6 and TeamCapri for 1.6L literature and turbo swap options.

I got the manifold tonight from a guy in Ohio. He bought it brand new and never used it. So now I have the bp26 manifold from Corksport. One step closer!
