  • '90 L plus paint prep

My daughter started wanting a different car so I decided it time form some drastic intervention! Time for a paint job. I have some paint that I bought way back before she was born and never used. LOL. Anyway, it just sits there on a shelf so that what color she is getting. I told here she could buy her own paint if she wanted something else. She priced it. That discussion stopped! Its going to be two tone. This is high grade automotive paint that will be sprayed. So from dents and rust to 400grit/finished paint in four days is my goal. Actually two are down already. I must be nuts. Wish me luck.

The doors and quarters are filled a smoothed to 180 grit primer.

The drivers fender was wrinkled bad and need to come of for massaging. A swap would have been alot easier but I couldn't find one close. After all the sandbag & mallet and hammer/dolly work, here it has the first filler applied. OH, this cursed fender!

    More to come.

Thanks. It will be blue and white. I snagged a GL hatch from the local Take-A-Part yard back in February. Just got it because it was there at the time, but glad I got it now. My Nephew and I swapped it out for the wiper upgrade. I got all the washer bottle parts too, but forgot all about the switch on the dash ( I'll need to locate one of those.

Blue hood and roof, then? Should look good that way.

I've thought of two tone for Luxstiva recently. Something to replace the bright red, as befits a luxury Festiva which will eventually become a "Mercury Minx." Maybe burgundy and black. (This'll take some thought.)

So your car my become my "two tone inspiration."

Holy crap you work fast! Looking good, I need to paint my MX6 BAD but I never seem to find the time lol and when I do find time I make excuses like... ummm... I want to eat a grilled cheese sandwich. Lol. That color would look beautiful on my Miata.
                          No festiva for me ATM...
