  • sasquatch's quest for MORE POWER!!!!!!! its turbo time....

    after a long time, its FINALY time for the turbo... im hoping to have it done in time for the "mega ford weekend" at mission raceway (2 years ago grocerygetter almost set the new record for the fastest festiva:notworthy:, but was just a tad bit to slow.... ) i dont know if ill be racing it, but it will be there with the hood up, looking all nice and shiny im not gonna be just slaping the thing together and take a bunch of short cuts like i have seen alot of people on other forums do... everything will be done right and done with good parts i still have lots of parts to buy, but here are some pics of the parts that are going in the festiva

    the turbo... (t3/t04e 57 trim .62AR)


    the wastegate, (turbosmart 38mm "ultra gate") and the BOV, (synapse Synchronic)



    turbo manifold, (1.5 inch sch 10 stainless steel, the flanges are 3/8" thick)


    3 inch exhaust (the down pipe will be 2.5 but after the oil pan will be 3 inch, and no cat )


    3 inch "vibrant" muffler


    and a new AEM wideband cause my zeitronix one is getting old and dosnt wanna work right... and i have a open spot in my gauge pod lol...


    i still have lots of parts to order like:

    intercooler (28x7x2.5 with 2.5 in and out)
    intercooler piping, 2.5 inch hot side and 2.75 inch cold side
    exhaust V-band clamps (no bolt flanges for me )
    fuel pump
    new fuel injectors (the car has 550's in it now but are sticking open )
    oil drain line for the turbo
    and a few other bits and bobs...

    when i get more new parts and start building stuff ill update it with more pics and what not, i know how much everyone loves pics

    once i get it running its getting the low boost map tuned (8-12 psi) and then im leaving it there for a while to make sure everything is good before i start pushing more boost... im hoping for about 180-230 hp on low boost, and who knows what it will make on high boost lol... it may make a dual nutral trans (grind 3rd off) 123n45r or it may make a permanent nutral trans (blow the diff up) lol... or it may make one hell of a fast festiva

    cant wait to see this!!! ive been tryin to talk my buddy out of his holeset hx40 since i picked it up for him last year...

    where did you get the sch. 10?
    I know its a piece of crap but im still faster...and its 100% legal!!!!!

        i kind of want to go with a hx40 but found this turbo before i knew about those hx40 things... if i ever run out of turbo, ill probably get something like a gt35r BB with a huge AR lag lag lag lag POWER!!!!!

        i got the sch 10 stuff from a place called "weirtech", they are in canada but thier web site is down right now or i would post a link...

        i got all the stuff in the pic for 115.75 shipped to my door

        i dont think there is a pont of making a sticky... anyone putting a t3 on a festiva should know what they are doing lol..

          thats alittle bigger than the vj11 i plan on using on my b6 hope to see it bolted up soon. take lots of pics for us

            Good to see this thread Mike. It's been a long time coming. I know you can get your goals. Mine did 220 whp with this redneck turbo setup on 550cc injectors and 14 lbs.

            Keep updating. Its nice seeing threads about cars and actual work.

                          still waing for an e-mail for my intercooler, piping, rad and exhaust v-bands...

                          i should be getting the injectors and maybe a fuel pump tomorrow...

                          and i was gonna get a bit of welding done today but my friend cut his hand bad so couldnt weld... maybe tomorrow... the welding is on a top secret project, ill post a vid of a walk around of my car and see who can spot what i changed and where it went, the person who guesses it first gets a gold star
