  • Valve cover bolts

I'd like to replace the valve cover bolts on my BP. Anyone know what these bolts are? I'd like to get the black ARP ones but not sure which is correct.

Also, I'd like to know what the torque amount for these bolts are. Thanks.

I don't know what the replacement part number bolts are but the torque is 43-77 in.lb or 3.6-6.5 ft.lb

Zanzer was smart to include both ft-lbs and in-lbs because many people have erroneously Assumed 43 ft-lbs and snapped them off.

        ^^

I often wonder how many people have tried to torque their water pump pulley to the spec listed in the Haynes manual

You can get them in a kit from the McParts store. They usually come in what they call a valve cover gasket kit. You get a new valve cover, bolts and bushings.

I always just tighten them down until the rubber bushing is deformed a bit more than tight.
