^ No bad stuff.
I know I'm reviving a dead thread, oh well. This is my garage people lol.
We'd been fighting low brake fluid for months, finally they gave out.. and so did I. Going to school and working, I have almost no time to work on her car. Also, it's 30 degrees outside (not centigrade btw). Her Aunt so generously sent her car to the shop to get fixed. She's super pumped her brakes work better than ever (pun intended).
Other than the brakes, her battery terminals were very corroded. I cleaned them a few days ago after it refused to start on a 0 degree wind chill day.
It's still consuming quite a bit of oil and reliably transporting her to school and work. Festiva FTW-Zack

I think I missed something, where did the 323 come from in this story?Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Driving is my passion, as it was for the people who invented the automobile, the people who paved the first roads and the people who continue to improve the automobile. Please respect this passion.

Lol, I guess it never came up much on here. She drives the Festiva from this thread currently but used to drive this 1990 Mazda 323 SE hatchback.
SOHC Gen2 B6 and F series electronic 4speed automatic. In 2009 or '10, the car was metallic baby blue but faded horribly. I rustoleum'ed it with rollers. After a good power wash, while wearing your glasses with a bad script, it looks passable as transportation. The speedo cable had been broken for who knows how long before I bought it but it said 124,000 miles. Generally rust free except for the rear wheel wells. Redid the brakes, junkyard tires, some overheating troubles fixed and a new battery.. some interior bits and power option upgrades.. then my lady drove it for a while.
The trans gave out a few years ago cruising 45mph down the road. Then, a few madnesses ago, neanderpaul and bhazard helped me source and deliver a new trans for it, which I finally installed late last year. During the swap, half the mid pipe from manifold to flex pipe was scrapped by accident as my Dad cleaned out the garage. Couldn't find time to get a down pipe, then forgot about it, so it sat.
Charged up the battery (RKE/RS draw killed it) and it started up on old gas. After I checked and topped off the trans fluid, it shifts and drives great, albeit only to 25 mph at the sound of a mad tractor. The exhaust is getting fixed and it's being driven finallyLast edited by crazyrog17; 12-07-2013, 12:29 AM.-Zack
