I bought this car even though I know after Dec I wont have a job anymore. So lets see what we can build on a budget.I Still have the B6D from the MX-3,could I use that engine/head & install the Turbo Manifolds on it? Or will the compression ratio be too High?

DO IT!!!! you'll have a much better engine with that higher CR, both on and off boost. you better be ready to tune though, it'll be a 91+ oct engine only.
Grab Dickmeyers exhaust manifold, remove the valve guide sections that protrude into the runners, use the B6T block and rods if it has piston squiters and the B6D pistons. B6T head for the better springs and injectors, etc.

this'll be a hodgepodge of parts, but if you're meticulous, you'll have an awesome engine.

Dont mind running 91 at all, just so long as the people that pick on little Festiva's stay in my rear view mirror. Pay back time will come soon I hope! Oh yah I also totaled my Aspire last fathers day, that really slowed this project down as well.

Are the blocks the same but the T gets the rods with the squirters? And sounds easy enough to massage the heads (I've seen pics of that). I have to decide which festy to put this in.I have a Rust free Carby from CO which needs some body work.Or I have a slightly rusty 94. Wondering if I should just do a complete XR2 to Festy Harness swap. I have a FI fuel tank already for the Carby.......

Yeah it was a sucky fathers day, that Green one replaced it.

Yes I'm very fortunate I'm a Union Steward. Its allowing me to stay on past the Lay off date till we negotiate a new contract. I might possibly be able to stay till Feb of 2014. But its still stressful, but if I end up unemployed for a while.I'll have something to keep me busy in the garage.

the rods dont have the squiters, the block does. the rods are kept because they are stronger than the B6D units. idealy you'll get 9:1 forged pistons, but the budget puts a kink in that... like HERE or see what Dickmeyer can do for you (a more appropriate solution may be available through him).

don't forget that you can sell parts off the xr2 to recoupe some $$$.

and unless you have an aspire swap, don't forget to use the front brakes from your donor.

Well as much as I would have liked to be able to easily "Borrow Parts" from the D engine. I'm going to listen to your advice and Build the T engine proper. It take a little more time and cash for sure. But good things come to those who do things right. As much as I would like to get ARP everything for the engine I'll stick with the stock hardware to keep cost down. Not to mention I'll be needing a new turbo(can I replace it with a external BOV unit with out major expense, or is that a pipe dream)? I have the Brakes covered (from an Aspire),but was curious about this "Capri Brake Swap". I'll start researching it when I get some free time. Thanks for the help guys- Oh and one last thing......I would like to try filling the holes on the Aspire REAR spindle plate. Then re drill them with the Festy bolt pattern.Think this is possible? I have Aspire rear beams, but according to Charlie they arent worth the extra weight...

if you want the fest bolt patern in the rear, run the festy beam... those drums work well when properly maintained.

as far as the external WASTEGATE goes, talk to Matt D. the ramhorn header he has will accept one with a different collector... but that also means modding the factory turbo OR going with an aftermarket unit (again, talk to Matt D., he has a selection of units that will do what you need and they are AFFORDABLE!!! it blew my mind when he told me what he was charging for his units. this guy must not like making any money, lol. i know where i'm going when i start boosting.)
