sup guys just thought id make up a little thread about my 121 and the adventures we have together. i searched everywhere trying to find a 121 specific forum and came up with nothing. it was only when i was searching for engine swap info that i stumbled upon fordfestiva.com and noticed how many similarities the cars share. hey, were basically brothers

i did i tiny bit of work to the door in an attempt to get the speakers to sound better. sprayed some bodydeadener in and outside and sealed one of the holes on all four doors. even though its a pretty boj install, it still makes a big difference imo

i got rid of any random bits from the interior (amp and speakers dont count, id probably go insane)

got some bars welded up in the back in an attempt to stiffen it up a bit, much more rigid now imo

butchered the tiny intake box and made room for a 3inch intake pipe and also cut out all the fins and restrictive business out of the bottom

its fed from behind the bumper (temporary fitment atm, going in search of a nice bell mouth)

ive removed the air conditioning and power steering as well

its got the B5-ME in it atm but the plan is to find either a B5-DE (unlikely in aus) or a B6-DE (mazda 323, capri etc.) and shoehorn it in. ive been doing alot of research and it seems like a pretty straight forward swap, i wouldnt be undertaking it myself anyway. i think if i stick to the smaller B engines i shouldnt throw the weight distribution off as much as a BP would.

so for now i save up and keep researching. great forum you guys have here

ps: i weighed everything i took out of the car and it came to 95.5kg, not bad if you ask me

the guy at the steel fab told me to buy 32mm with a 3mm wall thickness tubular steel. i asked the suppliers for that and they didnt have the exact measurements but it was similar. safe to say the towers dont flex at all anymore
