Yep, it's a PN diesel, IIRC only came on a few Familia (323) wagons.

    Looking good Jim!

      .... Is this engine a 1.5 or a 1.6?

          So interested.
I want to build me a diesel.

Was bidding on the candidate today at auction and fool kept raising the price. Gutted 90, running but rough $475. He wasn't going to stop so I did.

Back in the late 1960s, my dad drove a '59 Ford F250 with a 6-cyl diesel from a Ford 6000 tractor. I have a 79 F250 4X4 with an OM352 Benz diesel swap that my daddid back in the 1980s. The biggest issue with diesels here has been the lack of power...even with the first factory Cummins and Ford/IH motors. Since the developments of the 1990s in diesels, the power is now a non-issue. Cars have still not caught on, however. Most people don't like the noise, vibration and smell of diesels. Obviously, the newest diesel cars are a different story as well!
The VW's are the noisest car I've ever heard. Its insane how loud they are. They must use a lot of sound deading.

A quiet diesel is like quiet sex....still fun, but takes away from the total experience.
We had a '72 F350 dulley that had a 453 Detroit diesel transplant. For those not familiar, its a 212 CID 4-cyl, 2-stroke, supercharged diesel. There is no better sound than a screaming Detroit with the blower whining...gives me goosebumps.
