So after years upon years of lurking, building Sonik under everyone's nose, and years of owning this car...it's time for a full restoration and garage thread. This is a car that Rich Norman, legendary festiva owner and creator of this site, once owned and autocrossed..or so I'm told.
I bought this car from Eurotiva about 2 years ago. He got it from Rich Norman himself and did alot of work to the car before I got it. Eurotiva replaced the doors, windows, most of the interior panels, and seats. He hooked me up big time and helped me out with a $400 price tag. I've driven the car over 30k miles and put less than $100 into it! Only replacing tie rod ends, 1 wheel bearing, ball joints, an axle after a ball joint separated and broke the axle in half, oh and maybe 2 oil changes lol. It's also been riding around without a rear strut bushing...it's just sitting on the bolt LOL. I've clocked it so many times I've lost count, but it gets 45mpg all day no matter how hard I drive it. I'm pushing for 50mpg!
Current Mods: Performance race cam, intake expansion delete, modified air box, kerker motorcycle exhaust pipe after downpipe (no cat), escort cup holders in dash where the radio goes, festiva auto center console with radio installed in the cubby, white face gauge cluster, weight reductions everywhere, rear seat brackets removed, rear window wiper mod with reversed placement, all a/c components removed, smooth tail lights, 13" konig wheels.
Planned Mods: massive cleaning, Capri seats, short shifter, tint all around, monroe struts up front and kyb rears with fms lowering springs, spoiler, low pro tires, new rear carpet, custom CAI with cone filter, modded grill, new muffler (kerker is ridiculously loud), new paint/bodywork, clear/white lenses up front, escort gt skirts, new brakes all around, aftermarket clutch, door and rear speakers, sub w/ amp
Im not going too crazy with this build, it's intended to be more of a restoration. Im keeping it a B3 because of the 45mpg. I can't decide on the paint tho. It's between 2 choices right now....stormtrooper or harlequin. Stormtrooper is white body panels and bumpers with EVERYTHING else black. If I do the harlequin, each panel with be a different factory festiva color with maybe a white pearl in the clear coat. This saturday is festiva day for me so I'll post up pics of the car clean with a few new mods
