      • Dawn dish liquid on the carpet, with a large back brush, and peanut oil or vaseline and a hand torch for the bumpers. They'll look like OEM finish, and dawn is one of the best light degreasers out there that's color safe. I wash my clothes with it.

EDIT: You can also do the bumper thing on a really sunny, hot day instead of using a torch. The torch is faster, though. You just need to heat the plastic so it will accept the oils from the vaseline or peanut oil. Bike builders do this a lot to restore plastic on old, faded/worn out bike parts. But we generally use an oven and a plastic baggy full of it, or let it sit somewhere warmish for a few days.

yeah, a propane hand torch like you can get at most parts stores or Lowe's.

Just turn the flame up and heat the vaseline evenly until it's clearish liquid, by sweeping the flame over it in long strokes. You don't want to heat the bumper much because it'll warp.

try it first on a scrap bumper if you have one.

                      • Update pics coming. Didnt get too far today. Every time I go to install a piece I have to go check out all the other similar pieces I have and pick the best one. With that done it usually still requires prepping, painting, and drying or washing, drying and conditioning. I dont know why but the seat track legs, and seat belt brackets alway seem to rust. I think its condensation related, but that all has to be taken care of. Its slow going ! Ran into a couple of stripped studs which also sit be back some. Two minute job that takes two hours kind of thing. I am moving forward though. Cant install the console yet , I think I may have to mod my shifter linkage. The shifter position seems kind of wonky. My motivation is down from a couple of months ago. Looking forward to the end result but the work isnt as happy.

                        • You and I are so alike when it comes to putting these swaps together. We are too OCDC to just put it in! :p
Every little piece, no matter how small, needs painted, cleaned, or replaced with a new one. Even if ya cant see it. lol

                          Takes us forever .........

....... and then it aint fun anymore

But, it will be when we finally do get them done.

I am waiting on paint to dry on a couple small brackets, so's I can put them on as I type this, and I just found one more bracket that needs paint, that I forgot about.

                          Will it ever end ........?
