  • Rusty Crusty Festiva Project

Kinda new here been on here few times befor when i had an aspire which went back from where i bought it. Anyways theres been a festiva abt a mile from my house its an old ladys well she updated cars after it quit on here then sat prob 8 years well today i finally got it for $200 plus a lawn tractor lol.
its got the 1.3 3spd auto 114999 miles. lts a 1989 lx. Like the title says its rusty and crusty it wouldnt roll so i had to take the rear drums off and pull the brakes out as the pads came unglued it has quarter rot/floor/hatch lip/and the c-channel rear body/frame support has a hole in it.

Im going to try and get it running and moving first and then just patch it all and rat rod it lol

89 auto is a rare bird. The 89 was the first year of production with electronic fuel injection but only automatics got it. It has a three plug ECU among other oddities like vacuum advance. Manuals were still carb until 90 when all received the same redesigned EFI system that was used through the end of production.

sweet deal lol thanks for info im a newbi when it comes to these lol.

Well today i looked it over and checked some things out

well 1st i had to remove ign switch/bust i got the switch part where i can start it with a screw driver. 2nd I noticed the coil off the car and in glove box. 3rd the shifter was left in neutral and it want shift into park/reverse/drive just stays in neutral. So i unhooked cable from the shift rod and cable is good the rod i think is froze so i pb blastered it.
MAIN prob is it wont turn over? put battery in it and turned the switch over and nothing? lights and that turn on but starter wont crank? is it cause the trans is not in park?
