  • I am looking forward to the modded grill. That looked SO much better than I expected.

    • Bruce is once again in my care. The drive home was nice. It is good to be able to do 90+ at only half throttle.

However, work is needed. The shifter is sloppy again. Seems to need to be readjusted every few months.

The driver side wheel bearing I rebuilt has failed. Bummer. Instead of shooting in the dark and rebuilding the hub again, I took a trip to the yard today and grabbed the front hubs and wheels off a Aspire. Not nearly as much work as I had expected, but still more than I wanted to do today. I will have to go back to the yard in the morning to grab the other side.

The rear shocks are GONE. As in nothing left at all. I can push the rear end down with my hand. As much as that sucks, it will have to wait for a while. I am spending more than I can afford on the front swap, but I can justify that as being necessary.

      Pics tomorrow.

      • I now have both front hubs and front sway bar for the swap. Waiting on confirmation to use my step-Dads driveway. Freaking shifter fell again. This is only the second time that has ever happened to me, and both within 4 months of each other.

        • Hubs installed and road tested. The increase in braking is HUGE, even with only the front done. I eyeballed the alignment and handling is, well, challenging I plan to set it on the rack tommorow at school.

Grab a stronger BMC when you can. The stock unit will get you slowing down really quickly, but even when I pound the brakes (Aspire swap), they don't stop as quickly as they should. Aspire BMC is good.

            • Added it to my list. Will swap the booster at the same time.

              • I went ahead and ordered GABRIEL rear struts from RockAuto. Clearance sale. 18.00 a pop. I know they will not be nearly as good as KYB's but I have to do something. Driving as is, is dangerous and ZERO fun.
