I was finally able to start my festiva camper project today, I got the festiva shell delivered, we were able to get it off the trailer using the rear axle that was on the car and a jack on the front, and a chain to a tree hooked to the hitch that is permently mounted to the festiva ( extra bonus, I didn't know it had one) , we got the car mostly on the trailer, then my wife and I removed the rear axle and the fuel tank, got the festy on the 4x8 trailer, yes it hangs off but that is part of the plan. The car is mostly stripped down, the floor has rust but the floor is getting removed and a differnt floor is being installed, windshield is cracked but that's almost ready to be removed and metal be welded in its place, And a big thank you to justin for delivering this and a couple diesel engines to me but that's a different build.

No I don't have any drawings of what I want it to look like when it is finished, I have a couple ideas in my head but not down on paper. As soon as I get the interior cleaned out I will post more pics.1973 Cb750 haven't touched it yet with no idea what I am planning on doing with it

My sister and brother-in-law recently purchased a custom 12 foot long travel trailer that weighs 1400 lbs. You can't get much smaller than that. What is immediately different about converting a Festy for that purpose is headroom. You will never be able to stand up in one unless you weld one up and one down and joined together at the floors. However as a slide-in idea via going in through the hatch I think you're definitely on to something. Plus with the drivetrain removed the weight drops considerably.
Tastefully relocated wheels are going to be a curious thing in all this.
Looking forward to hear and see how things progress. A Festy with Festy trailer in tow would definitely be a eye-opener.

Bump
Any pics of how the festy camper turned out?
I think a festiva would be a great overnight, single person camper to sleep in/carry a day bag.I know how to use the search function, I just don't always choose to use it. New modifications, solutions, and information are discovered every day and I want to know what the current concensus is for whatever topic I have in mind. Thank you for understanding this!
