If you were at Festiva Madness 7 and you saw a matte black Festiva it was my car. What most people didn't realize is that it was a vinyl wrap that my brother put on for me. He does vinyl application on race cars and a variety of different things and he and I had a conversation jokingly one day about me wanting to paint my then red Festiva matte black. Over the next few weeks he began saving me ends of rolls from work and when I went to his house one weekend he showed them to me and we hatched a plan for what we needed to do. One day in June of 2012 he had a day off work on a Friday and he brought his 4 year old daughter over and "they" wrapped my car.
My brother removing the Festiva emblem. His daughter is telling him how to do it.
He has to clean the car with a special solvent and take the whippers off.
The back before
The hood before
Laying out the vinyl for the hood
My niece measuring how much daddy needs.
The hood finished and my niece still taking measurements. Notice he even got the hood vents next to the whippers.
Since I was at my shop I was working and didn't get as many pictures as I wanted. This is the side done and the above the door in progress. Now is the using a razor to trim and a tool to tuck and make everything look nice.
Still working
He said the back was the hardest part because of the angles around the top edges of the hatch. We just said the hell with and and vinyled over the dents
My dad's freaken dog pissed on my wheels :gritteeth:
Doing the grill took him about an hour. He had to piece together several pieces in order to get all the angles.
