  • Going to Finish the Fetus, finally... ARP/B6T/Topmount GT2560r/FMIC etc.

    hello all,

So long story short, built my b5zt festiva and its fun, but i want to go for more power, and have more of a weekend then DD car, so i've finally made/done some work and bought a whole bunch of stuff to legitimize a build thread. I originally thought i was going to do something crazy with the car, but i ended up booking a month off work to go to Hawaii, and bought a Volvo instead haha:

    Rebuilt Turbo:

    Top Mount Cast Miata manifold:

New bolt/hardware: i love this hardware i used it on my turbo miata, holds up great

Got one of my bazillion miata intake manifolds, going to try to thread in some AN fittings for a catch can. Still debating between miata/gtx. I have to decide the better way of mounting my catchcan/routing lines.

    Things bought:

    -Rebuilt 323 gtx engine/transmission
    -Intercooler/piping/bov/hoses
    -Turbo/cast manifold
    -Oil Feed line
    -Water turbo feed line

    Things i need to buy:
-Injectors (got a line on some, have to see if they really fit or not have a thread already on them)
-Megasquirt (had mspnp for miata, way to confusing to convert)
    -Clutch

Things i need to figure out:
Axles, Fender Flares/wheels, and engine mounts.

You won't be complaining of not enough power after a gtx build believe me.

Just a small update, Tomorrow is the big day, going to do alot of work/take stuff apart tomorrow.

Anways, bought this flywheel a LONGGG time ago, Thought it was for a festiva, it wasn't. I tried to put a miata clutch on it, wouldnt fit the miata clutch was too big.

Which leads me to believe its from an F series trans. Now i have to figure out do i use this light flywheel with a stage 2 clutch for an F series trans, or do i use a stock heavy miata/323gt flywheel with a miata/323gt clutch? decisions decisions...

Anyone have any input? can a stage 2 spec clutch hold 230-250whp?

Second coat of primer/mud on the valve cover. Tomorrow should be more exciting Thought i was going to go silver/ might go black now ARGH i hate decisions.

OK guys today was an expensive day:

Engine/Trans assembly, Mishimoto rad hoses/civic half rad never used

Grand total: 700Cad. Did i get hosed? I thought the engine was alot prettier, the guy is a friend and swears its Mazda rebuild, hes a tech at a dealership.

Got some other things figured out aswell, cleaned up the garage, found the injectors im going to use: rx7 550's. direct bolt ons, = winning. Will get bigger ones later on.

Going to start tearing down the motor, replace water pump, timing belt, tap for AN fittings on block etc etc.

These are getting painted/balanced/and made pretty Anyone have an idea for a funky color?

Second coat of mud on the valve cover

                      Mishimoto silicone rad hoses:

Mishimoto half rad with awesome-mishimoto-ness cap

Engine, going to clean it, new gaskets etc etc. Anyone interested in an intake manifold setup?

                      That is all for today,

                      Tomorrow i start to clean

Freak I'm lost what is the reason for slicing the valve cover?
Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

slicing the valve cover so that i dont have to take the valve cover off any time i tough the cam gears, im just mudding the valve cover for discrete-ness.

Plus it adds 10HP of gangster status.

Well today was a good day, extremely pleased.

                              dirty trans

                              mid day motivation hehe.

From the top, cause ladies like it that way best

Nice and clean, going to prep for block-re-paint and head cleaning later tomorrow

Clutch: expert opinions is this clutch in ok shape? I'm running out of budget might have to re-use this instead of a spec stage 2.

So next: Paint block, clean head, start on down-pipe construction (yikes)
