  • Die-Laughings 1st Festiva..

Hey guys, I just picked up a 1989 Festiva / 4spd / carb'd. It'll be my little beater toy project rig..

    Check it out!

I found it locally on craigslist for $1000.. I talked him down from $1500. Pricey? Eh... It's not totally beat to crap like the others I've seen.

What's that you say? You like the paint job? Awesome huh? Ha! Oh man.. it's super gay. The only thing it has going for it is.. It was painted that way back in '92 when that kind of thing was cool. :nightmare:

It's really clean.. some light rust but, nothing visible and no rot. It's a clean car. Interior needs some attention... I gotta paint this thing.. jeeze.

      Thanks

I don't much care for the wheels.. not the right offset.. I'll probably do coilovers and some pulling, maybe some flares but, these wheels still wouldn't be the correct fit. Need to hit the junkyard for some headlights & corners because they apparently went with a pink splatter effect on them. what the hell did they tell the body shop? "Yeah.. I want my car painted.. just make it look like I smashed into a big piece of bubble gum"

Also.. someone painted some of the removable interior trim pieces with some weird "fleckle" paint.. so, those will have to be replaced. Junkyard trip!

          Haha

I think someone died in the passenger seat so, that'll have to go. What other seats bolt into this thing?

Cool car. Where are you located? Most of the seats people use in a Festiva have to be modified in some method.
I was looking at some Miata seats yesterday that have possibilities. They will need brackets made to be usable.
Oh, and Welcome to the site!

I like deep dished wheels that stick out like that. its way better than 35mm offset wheels that make the tires rub the spring perches and splash gaurds.

I swear the CL ad was posted on here and we had a good talk about this car. I personally liked the dripping pink paint theme! I couldn't find the thread though or I would have linked you to it. Glad you have joined us though!

I love the paint job! Not so much the speckle on the headlights and whatnot, but still! Don't like the wheels much either though.

                          Welcome!!

Instead of going to the effort of getting new headlights, why not try just wet and dry sandpaper or chip the paint off or is it on there good and proper?
