More presents for the car . Yes I know it's mainly for hillclimb and road rallying but its so far to go anywhere here in oz so we decided to put a very simple little stereo in the car compromising of fusion speakers and pioneer head unit. It's not much but the need for music rather than listening to road noise here is beginning to get too me hahaha.

Love the bulid so far!!!
They are nifty little machines, I miss racing my festy. I hear you: Every time i take out my miata now its 300 in brake pads for the weekend, 1000 in tires, and other consumables like brake fluid, racing oil, etc.
Sometimes, lightweight and quick is alot more fun!!! Like how clean everything is ending up aswell.

Tell me about it. I actually just sold my r8 and am going to build a dedicated time attack car so the 121 is now has all my attention for a few months. The seats are here but I haven't had a chance to fit them yet and nearly everything has been ordered parts wise except for the motor. To race in the class I want to drive in I have to stay with the b3 and it cannot be boosted so I will be looking at going a full rebuild with ported head and cam package with a really strong bottom end (somewhat oversize 😉 .
The cage has been measured up and am currently going through the process of specs with our cams official to make it meet specs. Stay tuned as I should have a rather big update very very soon!!!

Potta.
Bore the b3 to b6 spec and use b6 internals. I'm pretty sure bore spacing is identical.
I wonder I'd Jap spec b6t forged internals would fit?otherwise use a b6t block and stamp the b3 engine number on it ...lol... dodgy, I know.1988 MAZDA 121- B6T + G5MR SWAP IN PROGRESS.

It's been a little while since I have updated on here guys , I have been so very busy with my go kart racing (endurance racing) and work I haven't had anywhere near as much time for the car as I'd like. My position at work also changed too so I have been using the car daily for the last month or two. Have actually done nearly 10,000klms in that time with a few very big drives to race meets thrown in for good measure.
My team mate and I loaded up the 121 and with all of our race gear and esky and drove a 1300klm round trip to our last meet and the oh pro did come out along the trip hahaha.
I'm my search for a 1.6 engine for the 121 I managed somehow to buy a donor car to get the 1.6 from.....
I bought this 😳😳 , it's got very low Kay's and could do with a turbo 1.8 so I will put the motor from it into the 121. Also needed another daily so the 121 can come off the road for a little bit.
Another poor excuse for another toy , if I do say so myself.
The mx5/miata then got a fresh set of coilovers , a roll cage , wheels etc etc. all of which happened in about 3 days after I picked it up.
The paint on the mx5 needed some love so a full re spray was in order for it and well as usual things got well out of hand.
Hard to see the colour except for up close.
So the mx5 will be back on the road this week so I can start stripping the 121 and getting it ready for the cage.

Hey potta, that's awesome progress.
Looks like you must go 24/7 with your cars.
Where's the race meets at? I'd like to come and check it out.
BTW. I've got the beer koozies and stickers now.
Wondering if we could meet up. I'm hoping to get your opinion on the way my b6t sits in the bay.
