Went to Kentucky to get this B8 with 41,000 miles. From what I've seen, the engine is in pretty great shape. Fingers crossed to have it in by the 4th of July.

The guy had 5-9 more engines that would work in a swap, depending. PM me if you're interested as to where it's located.

Nice! What are you going to use for fuel injection?

I was going to just soak mine and reuse - or maybe buy some remanufactured ones. Do you have a suggestion?

Found a chip in the aluminum drip pan. It has been wire brushed and washed for welding (not in photo)

            Then checked the engine out

Went and got a VAF, ECU, got a big nose crank from FestivaFred (thanks man) and a new excedy clutch.

Did the B8 swap and it is finally running well. Only changes I needed to tweak were the following: needed to use protégé disty and needed new fuel injectors.

                uploadfromtaptalk1445708842583.jpg

                I know, I know....it needs wires tucked.

Factory A/C. Just kept it attached to the car and worked it around the engine during install. I can say that it WAS a headache, but better than a conversion and a recharge.

Relocating the battery may not be worth mentioning, but I cut the old battery tray in half and made some mounts to hold on the passenger side.

Wanted to update the build with the hitch I attached. I got the idea from William, but Tom has a write-up on here somewhere. It's not finished, but here is what I have done.

                  uploadfromtaptalk1447558518436.jpg

                  Then I peeled it down

                  uploadfromtaptalk1447558636801.jpg

I also welded in some grade 8's because I felt like it. A hole needs to be drilled out to accommodate the 4th stud. I will update this when completed.

Drove the festiva around yesterday. I remember having to floor-it to go up 30 degree hills, now I have all of the power I'll ever need (but I may WANT more). I do need some new bushings and to put my short shifter in. Otherwise, B8 is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

FYI: To clean plasti dip i use purple power from the dollar store. Spray it on hose it off. The purple power will eat the dip if it sits on it longer then 20-30 seconds so spray on hose off.

You will see the brake dust almost jump off. I have white dipped rims on my bike. PP is the only thing i use to clean them now.

Thanks! However, it's funny you say that, because I've been sanding and soda blasting parts the past month to be able to repaint it haha.

                              Updates:

Got some studs in the rear.

Got the 2.5" SS exhaust put on there.

                              Got these beauties!

Relocated the battery and painted the valve cover.

Mercury Capri Big Brake Upgrade. No captured rotor.

                                Just love this picture

                                Did someone say DrFestiva?

Okay, I'll admit it. My exhaust isn't 100% SS. This was made with the stock flange, u-bend and mini flex (which happens to be SS too).
