Yes, well, he wanted the car to be distinctive, and asked if the exhaust system couldn't be converted to Lake Pipes.
I explained how complicated it would be and remain emissions compliant, but if he just wanted the look, I could
    work something up.
two hours spent with muffler tubing and strap steel later, and I'm off to the chrome shop, where they took pity on
me and buffed and chrome plated the pair for $125. That was 15 years ago.Thank You Royal Chrome !

I had hoped to get back to this story before this. But as I'll have to retake pictures (lost with my other cell phone),
and we are swamped with engine development for David (Carolyn's racing Festiva, but that is for another thread)
I'm going to have to beg off for a couple of weeks. Engine testing in a test chassis this weekend at Bondurant West
track in Phoenix, Arizona, then restock in Tucson and off to Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for high speed
            testing. Lots-O-fun.

Thank You Charlie, Richard and Jim!

My pleasure Ryal. You guys have a way of making dialing a car in a lot of fun. Especially when we're making progress. That car is pretty dialed in now.

The streets of Tucson are Ryals track every day. Haha. He runs errands in the race cars all the time.

we have no road courses in Tucson, only an oval and a drag strip. The closest road courses are in Phoenix and just outside of Willcox.

Charlie exaggerates, I am very careful of what I do on the public roads. The only "racecars" I drive on the street are
Carolyn's Showroom Stock Mini Cooper S and her Street Stock Miata, both of which are licensed, registered vehicles!

                        I sit corrected in a 7-point harness......

We may have little trouble staying on track (or at least over it for You and Carolyn)

But why is it You and I can't stay on topic even if they strap us down to it ???? :confused3:

I'm sure everyone must think we have a one track life

This would make a great title for a novel about someone who is reflecting back on life while waiting to be electrocuted.
