  • 93' Daily Driven / Nastiva Build

Figured I'd at least start my build thread. Have so many ideas in my head from reading through these threads that who knows what will become of this car. Just know that as of now I'm patching up the typical PA rust... Waiting on some bushings and other misc parts to come in the mail... And working on getting the car one solid color ... Black. Glad to be a part of this forum and greatly appreciate the help and advice you all provide soooooo time to do this one day at a time. What I started with...

    Body work

Then Between the past few days I started repairing a few dents n rust just getting it good enough to keep it from coming back and looking better then it did because it was truly an eye sore... Plus I like black ... May redo my hood later to a charcoal grey or CF wrap... I dunno

I gotta say that for a PA car yours is not in bad shape at all.... I have a rust free stock hood if you want one..... And I am over in the Lehigh valley so not too far of a drive from Pittsburgh. Keep up the hard work, looking good.

I puttied and sanded the hood looks ok not perfect but it's better then rusty... Anyways so since I change my mind a lot ... I came up with a crazy paint job that I think is gunna put it over the top... Will see how it goes but stay tuned I think this festiva is gunna live up to the hype in my head... Also gunna start investigating motor swaps more in depth. As of right now I'm leaning towards a b6t or a bp depending on what I can find I'm not truly going for crazy nuts fastest festiva more like sick as hell looks ... And I really want a reliable turboed motor that will match the style of the car with the performance and drive ability I want. Thanks for checking out the thread so much more to come. Waiting on parts and definite decisions in my mind. Also found a sonic turbo muffler today off my deceased grandpas 69 firebird... Think I may throw it on there see how I like it for now with my stock b3

I put a cherry bomb glasspack straight through 2 inch muffler on my stock 1.3 and i think it sounds very nice. Even now after 180k and there being almost nothing left of the muffler.
Motor swap before nice paint job? It would really suck to put a scratch in a nice new paint job while changing a motor....

Update: Currently dealing with an overheating issue ... changed out thermostat ... Got a donor rad from original owner as well as two new head lights and a tail light to fix all my broken stuff. Gunna be installing tommarrow hopefully all goes smooth and fixes my issue. Still would love to find a grill, roof rack, and spoiler but dont think those things are gunna be easy to acquire ... If anyone has any leads on them id love to know. Also starting to look into a Bp or b6t if I can find one at a decent prize. But before that I gotta get my paint body wheels n coils done

                Work day need advice

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgSoooo I was all excited to receive my headlights and new tailight to replace my garbage ones... And of course just like everything else in my life they don't fit... The connector ring that goes around the bulb and attaches to the back of the headlight is different... It's smaller on my car then the headlight connector on the new headlights.... Any advice???? I'm at a standstill... We'll beer still ... Also got some free muffler options lol ... Gunna swing by Home Depot this week and figure out something to make a front lip with. Ummmmm went to the Pittsburgh north shore car meet last night was a couple hundred cars in the parking garage ... Hoping to have it semi ready for the next meet wich is sept 19th. Also really planning on attending madness. Thanks fellas hope someone can help me on these headlights. Here's some pics of my buddy's vr6 we went to the meet in taken by me.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I've never see a difference in head lights I've used 89 headlights in a 92 and as far as I knew they were all the same. I hope someone can explain what's going on here I would like to know as well.

If you compare the two closely, I am wondering if they are even for the same car. There are small differences. Look at the angle of both at the top of the pic, for instance. Also the vertical alignment does not seem the same for both. I saw an old Volvo headlight in a Festy at the JY this week. Similar enough for a casual glance, but obviously not identical when you really look at it.

He's not really giving us a good complete look at both headlights either. Are they both for the same side, oriented the same, both on the floor, etc. And let's see the front sides and other angles.

There are 2 different lock ring designs. I have encountered them before too. You have to match the right one with the right headlight "housing?".

Not sure what makes the diff, but I would assume like most other things, carb or EFI.

One is very flimsy and the other is a bit more robust design. You can tell in an instant by looking at the rings. One has grooves around the outer circumference, and the other one is smooth.

EDIT: OP's Festiva has the smooth kind, which are tougher and less finicky to work with. The new light must use the ring with the grooves around the outside. They suck.

Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

That's a good point I've often looked a suzuki sidekick headlights and wondered if they would fit without a side by side they look the same.

I'll take pics in a min but ya it's definitely from a festiva just different... In other news the rad is in and fixed my problem so far... Also wrapped my down pipe with heat wrap for the hell of it ... Gotta get this tailight in and test fit some mufflers. Gunna need a new clutch soon and probably a motor mount. Any recommendations would be nice. As far as the headlights Ina go see if he has any other ones

                            Updates short throw shifter

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgJust did the integra short throw shifter mod stiffened up and shortened it so much... Love it. My stock shifter bolt was about to fall out it felt so loose. Next I figured out that my cat was Mickey moused on and was where all my exhaust leaks and rattling was coming from so it will be removed this Thursday straight piped and throwing that muffler on I acquired for free 😃 then back to body work... Also think Ina order a front lip and skirts for the old gal to give her some new sporty lines then just need to get some wheels tires and coils and I'll be pretty happy for now until I find a motor to swap in. Thanks for watching also threw some stickers on because I can lol

                              Exhaust

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgDid some exhaust work today my cat was trashed sooo... Straight pipe to the can I found. Thought it might sound like a Honda and I was gunna have to rip it off but was completely surprised when I fired it up and heard how clean and deep it sounded without that ugly Honda fart... That's by buddy's dad he's an old school no mask idiot but damn is he good at welding...
