.... and here picks up the long and spooky tale of the white 90 festiva known as Casper.

This car has quite a history in the Festiva community. The story started here in Arizona, where this car was a NAPA delivery vehicle. It still has the mounting holes in the roof from the big NAPA hat. As legend has it, the car then ended up in Texas, where it was purchased by DJ (one of the guys who started Fordfestiva.com). DJ did a BP swap on Casper over 10 years ago. He didn't just put a regular BP in it. The engine was built with .040" over Wiseco pistons and a ported head, EX cam mod and a balanced crank.
Unfortunately, in 2007, DJ passed away. Casper was purchased by Simon (SimonToughguy) who used it as an Autocross car and made some changes to it to suit his need for speed. Simon ended up selling Casper to TominMO, who traded it to Eurotiva, who sold it to Hamburgular. Hamburglar brought the car from FL to Iowa and then to AZ when he started a new job here. I first saw the car 4 years ago when I went to a little meet up at Brett's (Hamburglar) house. Fast forward 4 years and here we are. Today, Casper has changed hands once again.
The engine is relatively untouched from when DJ put it together over a decade ago.
My plans are to restore the car to it's former purpose. This will be a simple track toy. This car has history, and I intend to respect that history with the rebuild.

That's way too cool. Is Simon around anymore?

I'm so happy you're doing this! Couldn't be in better hands.

When Greg was building my B6 rear turbo motor, we went and dynoed it and also Casper. The B6rt made 111 HP, Casper 108.

Yes, DJ built this car with a BP and the car will remain BP. I might have to make some changes though, for reliability on the race track.
