I'd cut the bottom 6 rows out of that charge cooler. That's wayyyyy too much volume. It'll create a TQ spike, which will be less forgiving to drive.

That's the size charge air coolers we use on the hopped up Mazdaspeed Miatas (1800 BPT), and on those it does help with the IA temperature. If you cut off 6 rows, it would be the size of the one used on the 2007 Mini Cooper S, a turbo 1600.
