April & March rolled around:
I will bundle these two months together.... cause I feel like it .
- Installed new black carpet (very looks! much good! *ruff ruff*)
- Removed automatic seatbelts (I liked them, but they looked nasty and did not match my black interior).
Replaced them with universal 3 point in black up front and universal 2 point in the back. Everything was bolted to factory locations. I was unable to find any Festivas with 3 point factory belts to see what kind of trim panels they used, so I ended up modifying the A-B pillars to make the 3 point work. Wasn't very hard and probably saved few pounds, if you're into that sort of thing.
- Taillights were letting some water into the cabin, so I had it addressed prior new carpet installation. Replaced worn weather seals with some thick window weatherstrip from local race shop, maybe you heard? Home Depot.
- Upgraded ancient fusible links to PAL fuses. Another nice quick plug-and-play upgrade.
- Replaced weathered, old, wrong colored windlace (rubber around the edge of door opening, that's the name?), got universal black one, I think 20 feet was enough to do both doors. $45 on eBay. I think it was listed for first gen Mustang, sold in foot increments.
- Did a quick buff job on the paint, wax on wax off.
