I'm getting ready to B6d swap my '88 L so I wanted another Festiva to drive while it was apart. I've posted wanted ads and scanned craigslist daily to try to find a decent driver nearby. About a week ago I had a guy respond to my ad with an '88 LX with a 5 speed and A/C nearby, so I went to look at it and ended up buying it for $700 bucks. It runs great but needs some brake work and the A/C recharged. Also needs some cleaning.
The Craigslist ad:

After bringing it home. The paint is pretty rough and one quarter and one fender are beat in pretty badly. I may try to practice building stretched fenders and quarter on this car, which will keep me from screwing up my '88 L if it doesn't go right, and it'll let me fix the damage while I'm at it.

The interior is in really good shape, besides the seats. They were pretty gross. I pulled them out and used the pressure washer hooked up to a bucket of Purple Power to pre-soak them, then scrubbed them, then used the 40* tip to blast the nastiness away. I did that twice; they're much more presentable now and I don't feel like I'm catching some unknown disease!

I also swapped on a driver side power mirror (it had been changed to a manual mirror at some point prior), fixed the broken outer door handle, did the Advanced shifter bushing fix, and removed a bunch of decals from the rear window.
Plans are: NB Miata booster/master cylinder swap, throw my Escort wheels leftover from the L on it, refinish the bumpers, add a Civic short shifter, and probably do the full Advanced Suspension setup on it. Maybe widebody it, not sure on that yet. I really like to find a white or silver '90 5 speed with A/C to keep so I might not put too much work into this one. I do like the early manual seat belt cars though, so who know.
