A couple weeks ago I purchased this fine example of an 89 festiva. She's been sitting for uhhhhhh a while so I'm sure I have a ton of work in front of me.

At first I was convinced that the ignition switch was bad. However My father came over last night. I was telling him what it was Doing and I specifically told him that it was acting like it needed a main engine relay but I couldn't find one. He informed me that these cars had what were called fusible links which I had never heard of before. Turns out that was my problem all along. Looks like all I need is a fuel pump and a fuel filter and I might be road ready.

Welcome to the Forum, I would suggest draining the Fuel Tank if it has been sitting for a long time because the ethanol will separate and turn into water after sitting for a while.

You posted this car on Facebook as well correct? They told you about the Long Leg PAL Fuses right?
