Decided that the body is too rough to stick with normal fitting rims. 15x8 +25 4x100 and 4x114.3 i think ill need 40mm flares but ill order them after i fit the wheel and measure im stoked
So i still need a header, throttle cable, and coil overs. Tomorrow i pick up the b6d, gtx bumper, and possibly an aspire 5 speed. Maybe some other odds and ends.

I tried syncing twin carbies with a Crypton, but my Gunson Colortune worked best.
I would also bet a Gunson would work best for the carb for each cylinder of your car.
Just stop when the flame turns from yellow to blue while turning in each screw.

got the head off, i plan on decking the head .030 to bump compression.
tomorrow im gonna pull the bottom end down and get ready to hone it

Just an idea but if you are pulling the bottom end apart anyway, why not have the crank offset ground .015 . That will get you .015 more coming down .015 more coming up and all in the bore it will by more compression bump than decking or milling. It won't alter the cam timing and will gain almost 1mm stroke the cranks going to need .020 bearings make sure you can get them.

I've never really heard of anyone doing that before. What does the piston set at at tdc? Will it come to zero deck, or even negative deck hight? I was considering having it polished. Ill talk to my machinist when i see him. I probably wont get into reassembling till next month or so. Also im going to get a set of adjustable cam gears anyways because im planning on either getting cams or getting a miata exhaust cam and running it in the intake side, then cams later on. Both require cam gears to be right.

I misread what you had posted I thought you were going to deck the block .030. I would still see where the pistons park stock.I do not like having lots of deck height it makes the engines more octane sensitive in my toys I shoot for right about.040 top of piston to bottom of head, but honestly I haven't had one of these heads off, with a wedge type combustion chamber airfuel will hide in the cylinder between the piston and the head and that fuel creates preignition problems.I used to get cranks ground crazy to increase stroke but I have no idea how much meat these have. Old BMWs can be offset ground a ton if you use rabbit rods and bearings and bug pistons the smaller journal gets you your stroke.the shorter rabbit rods and the different pin height pistons set your deck height. I've had 2.165 journal cranks ground to 2.0 chevy journals for stroke. I'have often thought if I ever bother rebuilding one of these I am goin .020 offset and .040 bore if they make pistonds that will 1mm bore 1mm stroke and a ton of compression without ever touching the head.

You gain 20cc of displacement. But would that 20cc be worth the effort and money over just decking the block and over boring it? I wish i had paid more attention to deck hight when i pulled it apart. I may throw a piston back in tonight and measure.

0 deck hight would make a very efficient engine. That combined with the bigger bore and cams would be a very good street set up
