  • First race with the new coilover suspension

One word for the new suspension...

    AWESOME....

NO bounce.. the valving in the set-up I am using is pretty darned close.. at least for autocross....

My tires aren't suited for the cold weather, with so much wait time in between runs.. but other than that.. the car handled flawlessly!

check here for my Suspension set-up...

Have had 6 Festys... and counting...

We had 102 cars show up, everyone had a blast..

Did I mention that I am now the Solo (SCCA Autocross) Chairman this year? LOL... relative rookie, and they promoted me to running the whole event... go figure...

It's a lot of pressure, but it's good being the king... LOFL..

Really, you guys should get together and come make an event in Cincinnati this year. We are racing well into October, there will be PLENTY of opportunities... I am SURE I can create a class for us, as a special race. The Festy Class!! It would be a BLAST!!

Congrats on the new setup. I think I'm going to run a setup similar to what Fred was running before. I just have to piece the stuff together first.

As for the slicks in cold weather... Don't they have some tire warmers that you can get to fit? I know the chairman here in NEPA has a set for his little Civic he runs. Races and they puts these warmer things on them... From what it looks like to me, it's almost like an oven mit type thing. Seems to work ok for him?

Yeah, I am going to make a set.. it's cheaper to make them out of water heater blanket... but still, if you can't get heat IN the tire, you can't keep it in. But I ordered a set of stickier tires... that ought to do some good for those cold days...

heh heh... yeah... every day. I am SO wanting to at least take off the bumper supports, headlights, taillights, dash... and get a fiberglass hatch and hood.. and take out all the glass... but I just can't quite bring myself to do it!!

I might have to bump down to E Prepared..
