  • Festy at the Evolution Performance Driving School

Hey guys, I told you that I took the Evolution Driving School this last weekend.

Actually, I hosted the thing for my SCCA region. we had 4 world class instructors..

    Google Danny Popp Corvette GOD.

If any of you watch Speedvision, and the Setup series, we had Mike JR. Johnson (who owns Evolution School) too..

plus a couple of other multiple national winners.

MAN was it fun. I got over 50 runs this weekend!!! (wore out a full set of Hoosiers!)

It was dry most of the weekend, capped off by rain at the end, which actually helped quite a bit!

I learned a LOT, and hope to improve my times all season.

I will have more pictures after a while, as there were photographers there.

for now, here are some from the end, when it WAS wet, but there are quite a few of the Festy in there.

Here is the fun note. The instructors LOVED THE FESTY!!! I had people come up to me all weekend to tell me that they overheard the instructors talking about how fun my car was to drive. The instructors drive your car to show you what it can do. Trouble was, None could beat my time in my own car.. LOL.. not too surprising, as most of them were Vette drivers... but still, it's a neat feeling, as most people were getting outdriven in thier cars... LOL.. I overheard one instructor telling another, "you GOTTA get a turn in that Festiva... it HOOKS man!!!, what a blast!!!"

It really made me feel good!!!

If any of you ever get a chance to take the Evo School, GO FOR IT!!! It ROCKS!!

They are getting ready to change the website, update it, etc.. but check it out

Watch the video too... what a friggin BLAST!!!

      Watch this one too

This is just a quick promo for a soon to be released instructional DVD. The second half of it is a lot of inside jokes so don't worry if it makes no sense.

      same guys.

Heh-heh.. I beat the Lotus because it's owners were a 68 year old couple... and it was their first time driving it in autocross... in the right hands that thing should have kicked my butt...

BUT, to be fair, those two have been driving auto cross for YEARS, and have taken the school MANY MANY times.... SO, I feel pretty good about that... cause I am a damned rookie...

I get beat ALL THE TIME!!! by lesser cars than that Lotus, that's for sure... LOFL.....

Still, it's fun to get a better time than than an Elise... no matter HOW it happens!!!
