  • SMS Festiva Autocross Update April 6th

Well, we just had our second largest autocross since I started with the club.

We raced at the Kentucky Speedway. I guess that school paid off, as I beat folks I have never been able to reel in! Yeah!

My "team" did well too. My BMW Z4 driver took first place in A Stock (vettes, s2000's and the like) for the first time.. he is PUMPED.. Better yet, 9th overall!!! That is doing something in my region!!!

Once again, I was the only car in my class, which sucked.. but hey, a trophy is a trophy, right?

I like to look at the "kills" anyway, and listen to the buzz about "that little blue car!!"

27th out of 93 in my region isn't too shabby for a 1.6 liter 4 banger... we had at least 5 national champions yesterday, and I cut my "behind time" from the fastest time of the day down to 4 seconds, I used to be at least 10 seconds behind this guy (google Danny Popp, seriously do it)

    ANYWAY... the Festiva is representing...

    Kills for 4-6-08

Actually, I am embarassed to say that I haven't strung it up yet.... I got too busy with other stuff... I plan to get it strung up this week, before the race on the 20th.. I am going to hog a bit, and get the camber a bit more negative.

I am about out of rubber on these current Hoosiers too... one, mabye two more events... then it's time to slap on the Hoosier R25's I have out in the garage, and give them a try!! can't wait, those things are so sticky you could pull off a bit of rubber and use it for chewing gum, I don't expect more than two-three events total out of them... it's really more of an experiment than anything....

MORE later on alignment and tires!!

toe it out a hair, that will help turn in, and correct for the common toe in that you get when the suspention is under compression (or lowered, or BOTH).

Yep, that was the plan... PLUS, I need to do some general corrections for the beating the car has taken since I last lined it up...
