  • Ran my bone stock festy down the 1/4

Yup, for s&g, I ran my bone stock minus the cat 93 festy tonight. 17.95 at 76.1 mph with a 2.55 60' was my best run. Sound about right for a stock festy? I was kinda hoping for a couple tenths faster but I cant really complain when it regularly gets 50 mpg. I also had the back seat and spare tire out. Probably around 1900 lbs race weight, Im 145lbs. I shifted at around 5500 rpms, and ran through the traps in 3rd pushing 6000. Probably shouldnt have ran the lil b3 that high, maybe shift at 5000 instead, before it runs out of steam.

On another note my gf made her first ever passes, in her turbo shadow. I went 15.64 at 86mph in it last month, and she managed a 15.33 at 88.7mph on her second ever pass down the 1/4 mile. How embarrassing for me, eh? Oh well, I still had the better 60 footer.

I'd expect a lil quicker w/ a stocker, but 5.5k rpm is pretty low. redline is 6.2, and as long as its still pulling up there I'd wind it that far. My engine pulls straight through to redline (I usually shift around 6k when "getting on it" though).

I need a tach in mine. I can feel it fall on its face long before the rev limiter. It's ok B8-ME when she smokes!

Are you going to do some upgrades and get another time, or was this just a one time deal? Let me answer my Own question. If you like to hypermile, you don't want more oomph huh.

Im not a diehard hypermiler, but I do like to conserve my gas. I still like to have fun once in a while though. I wouldnt mind doing a decent intake and exhaust, but I also know the b3 isnt really worth investing a lot of work into either. I just wouldnt mind running with the fartcan civics and such. An extra 10hp would be a nice goal without swapping engines.

I still have yet to change the fuel and air filters in this car either. I put 4 gallons of e85 in the tank this fillup too, so I may end up having to change the fuel filter, lol.

Has anyone ran their stock festy with a 4 speed down the 1/4? Just wondering the time diffrence between that and a 5 speed.

Well I only used the first 3 gears anyway so it shouldn't be any different. The only real difference would be with the aspire trans or a g series, which nobody is gonna put on a B3.
