  • Took my neon down the 1000 ft

I ran my neon at our only dragstrip in AR. It's only 1000ft.

    My best was 12.03 @ 91.56mph with a 60 ft time of 2.33.

First gear is useless. Second chirps and the front end gets light towards the top. Finished in the top end of 3rd.

I really need Drag radials but only go every now and then so it's not viable right now. Also afraid of snapping my CV's.

As long as I can stomp my friends Mustang GT's I'm ok.

On a track the races are very close. Mustangs hook and the srt-4 is a joke. Once rolling it gets ugly. Reeling in v8's like a fish. on the highway who spends the most wins.

Another thing ive read (not experienced) is unlike other cars, using slicks or at least d-radials is actually better on your axles than street tires. Our axles can take the twisting force of hooking but they cant withstand the hopping that occurs long after launch, like in second gear. This why youll see 12 second srt-4s with stock trannies, and slower ones that have been apart many times.

I haven't done any "staged" upgrades but I have added a APG wastegate acuator and BOV, a MSD Ignition, some I/C thats twice as tall a little thicker and a little wider than stock, K&N intake that i use half of to avoid water and a 3" D/P no cat.

I'm usually running 15-17 ish psi. I have no idea how much power is put down.

But all that matters is that she's loud.

I don't think the srt-4 would have a chance against Brian's or my stang :-) hehehe

Nope. But I bet I get better gas mileage.

I have a friend with a Stage 3 SRT4 who's running low 12's in the 1/4 due to traction issues.

I've decided to quit modding mine because I've focused on my 150cc scooter. It's getting a 200cc big bore and stoker kit, 32mm carb, 4-valve head, racing variator and clutch kit, and ignition.

Some cheap Chinese cookie cutter scooter. It has a Honda GY6 based motor though.

You better get the Ruckus now. They'll sell out in a few months if any thing like last year.
