First race, First win !!

Yesterday on my way home from work I notice a kid in a 240 pull up. We were the only two cars in sight and stuck at the same light side by side. He and his chick were staring at my car ( the 90 ford festiva that is..) So i looked at him and then i pointed at the light and gave him the ol head nod. He nods yes and I think this is gonna be fun. As i turn back from looking at him the light turns green. I think oh chit I am not prepared to launch I am still at an idle! Then i hear tires squealing, it's him. I was snoozing. So I let the clutch out and put it to the floor. With having no revs or torque in my favor i was starting to think i just shot myself in the foot. But low and behold the turbo starts to spool and here we go. By this time he has 2-3 cars on me but the festiva is furious and won't have it. At about 3k rpm the full 10lbs. comes online and tires start spinnin' and revs are going to the roof qiuck. I caught him at the end of first and as I shifted he looks over just as my blo up valve lets one out. And it is loud. When I hit second i pull about 2 cars on him and think wow that must suck to be him. We did not continue too much past 70 mph. As i let off he caught up to me with this look of confusion, frustration, embarassment, on his face. His chick was laughing at him alot! Soon after he turned off and i proceeded home with a grin on my face. It made all the work well worth it. I can't wait to put some 'stangs in thier place. I went to the track (orlando speedworld) 3 weeks ago and it ran a 15.81@84mph and that was on the stock 1.3 from 20 years ago on 10 lbs. and smokin a quart every 100 miles. After getting greedy with my timing i wiped out a head gasket, so last weekend the festy got a 1.8l 16v motor thanks to the nice protege i found for $400 on CL. I can't wait to get back to the track/dyno.

I was heading up to a friends house friday night and was behind an older BMW 3-series that some kid had stuck a muffler on and had plates that said "RU55IN"... on a twisty little road, he was going slow around the turn onto the road and so I got pretty close to him, no intention of pissing him off, but the he took off so I figured I'd stick with him through the twisties on the little country road... after a few miles of 60-80mph in the twisties, some nice rubber smell, and watching him almost take out a SUV because he couldn't shake me, he flipped on his turnsignal and headed down a side road. I pulled a 180 in the middle of the road and headed back the other way b/c I had gone past my road... I'm sure he wasn't too happy about that!

the only "race" (i have been in with my festiva besides when my friends go out and play with the metro... which i kill every time ) is when i was heading home and this guy in a STOCK honda civic was trying to pass me lol... as soon as i saw him pull out to pass me i slamed it in 3rd and floored the **** out of it lol... then i see him catching up to me and was laughing... then it got up a bit in to the power band a bit more and he is beside me and im thinking that we are even... i was wrong lol... then he guns it and leaves me like i was standing still... it was a epic fail

Hahaha awesome! I raced a 240sx with my stock B3 I got out on him a car till 3rd then we both let off. I bet you would of destroyed him if you launched with him.
