  • Beat a Cobalt SS tonight :)

i pulled up to the lights waiting for them to turn green and a Cobalt SS pulled up beside me. When the light turned green i gave it in first gear only to about 4k rpm to keep the tires from spinning and to test out if the Cobalt is willing to give it a run, well he floored it as well. by this time i'm in second gear and once the turbo spooled up i started pulling ahead of him and by the top of second gear his front bumper was at my rear bumper

A bit further up the road i pulled into a Tim Hortons and the guy pulled in behind me and asked "What the hell do you have in there?!?"

i think he was expecting an easy kill, i sure surprised him we got talking for a bit and he says him and a group of Cobalt owners go to a local drag strip about once a month so i plan on going there to meet up and race him at the track

The real question is, SS turbo, SS supercharged, or SS base (neither).

I think we are all a little quilty of playing in the "stop light grand prix". I detest street racing but have to admit I have ran a car hard in first or second once or twice in my life on the street.

                    Damkid,

                    Been there years ago.

Now days around here more chance of getting busted

Picking up the turbo car I bought from Chris from storage soon.

                    Can I handle the temptation?

thats exactly it, run it hard in the first two gears and let off, it's just enough to know if the other guy can beat you at the track or not

I think everyone has done this at least once in there time, otherwise why the heck do we drop turbo engines into these little cars if we never enjoy the hard work we put into them

I agree there is nothing wrong with a quick shot up to the posted limit. As long as you don't break traction it's not reckless. Just because the other guy wanted to try and keep up that's on him.
I guess I need to send you an offical "Woo-Dam racing" sticker for your Festi. When you get it place it proudly on you back window. That way the guy you're beating can read it because they are usually speachless that a Festi is killing them. It gives them the words to describe what just happed! WOO- DAM!!!

OK then... you should get a small "Cobalt SS" sticker to put on your driver's door, under the mirror, like the jet fighter aces do when the make a kill. Booohh-Yaaah!
