    Damn aerodynamics!
Don't know what your Festiva has for an engine, but if it's a BP or B6T then it's probably pretty close to the same Lb/Hp ratio as as stock '04 GT. The close race makes sense, especially if the GT is an Automatic with 3.27 gears and you start from a 20mph roll! Nonetheless, it's still impressive!

My '04 GT is a 5-speed with a few bolt-ons and stock gears and I think it pulls pretty hard if you wind it out to 6K. To think that I could have that same feeling from my $1000 Festy with just a motor swap and still get 30+ mpg & look like a......well, a Festiva.... is just so intriguing! I gotta do me a motor swap!

Festivas and aspire I believe have a drag coefficient of .36, the same as a new edge mustang. The fact that the frontal area of a festy is small helps a lot.

Block the grill, lower the car, make skirts over the back wheels, use LRR tires, and put a belly pan under the car. That coefficient will probably drop to .30 at least. If you wanna go crazy build a "kammback" or boat tail. Thats sure to draw attention but your hwy mpg will go way up.
