'88 Festiva Motor Cross racing it!

In Elk River Mn we have a motor cross park that is trying something new this year. We call it Beater Cross racing. http://www.erxmotorpark.com/beatercross.html
We take the motor cross track and change it up by removing some of the woops double and tripple jumps....
Lastnight was our 2nd event. We had a total of 28 racers in 2 car and 1 truck class. Almost 700 spectators game through the gate.
Event 1 I had a 5th in heat 1, 1st in heat 2 and a DNF (throttle linkage broke) in feature.
Event 2 I had a 3rd in heat 1 and DNF in heat 2 (blown tire)
I am running this little Festiva in the 99inch and under wheel base 4 cylinder class. The care is really underpowered, but having fun anyway!

That's what I was thinking. Stiff suspension and 100+ hp, that would be sick.

Looks like fun! Wish there was something like that around here, would have done that with one of my parts cars instead of scrapping it.

Street tires only - The car holding up pretty well. The table top jump is part of every lap, and the fans love it. I can hear them hootin and hollarin when I get good air. I paid $300 for the car and it has 240000+ miles on it. The only things I have done mechanically is to remove all the polution control stuff, cleaned the carb, moved the radiator to the roll cage, and cut the exhaust just before the Cat, and moved the battery to where the passanger seat should be. I still see "sell-able" parts on your car. Just a thought to help your racing fund...

I have no interest in keeping car after the next race in two weeks........ part our or take it in for scrap
