Oh yeah I was using the cable trans so I wouldn't have to do a hydro conversion on the clutch.

its not that hard to fit decent sized tires. you just gotta get creativeOriginally posted by 05zx4st View Posti ran traction bars, stiff urethane bushings and lowering springs with a pretty high rate on a STREET srt4. it def reduces wheel hop,and turning inst compromised all that much. the fact we cant fit decent sized tires is prob the most hindering partwhen it comes to turning.
id rock a set of traction bars every day if they made them for festivas.

all rear honda mounts are flat with 3 bolts are you saying you were going to run a d series cable trans that doesnt use a T bracket? I think i might just tie the frame rails together and bolt the solid mount to that. or I suppose i could get even more creative. I will also have a rod on the front of the motor anchoring it to the tractionbars. once bolted in this motor is not going anyware lol I hate wheel hop and with the money I am going to be dishing out for axles I dont want to risk breaking them over something stupid

Thanks to the wonderful world of Honda parts, I was just going to use a rear trans mount from a 88-91 crx. It gives you a flat mounting surface with 3 bolt holes. I was going to weld a crossbar between the rails and make a triangular connection between the crossbar and the firewall. Then attach my mount to that. I was worried about the flex the firewall might have with all the power I'd be putting down. And You'll have shifting problems if the trans mount flexes, as I'm sure you know.

yeah i know how it goes my ef hatch hit some coolant at the top end of the track at about 130 and met the wall in the left front i was ok thanks to the cage but the whole left front of the car was GONE so i pulled out the motor and trans and turbo setup and want to try again this time going even more hard core possibly running the car on alcohol so i can run much shorter charge pipe and ramp up the timing and make even more power. One question is how were you going to deal with the rear trans mount? I was going to brace the firewall above the heatercore inlet/outlet and bolt it to the firewall then brace the backside to the dash bar of the cage. That or tie the frame rails together and put a plate for mounting? The mounts will be Avid Racing solid mounts left over from the civic and i am looking at making custom mount perches for the frame rails and all the stock mounts off. Idk any input would be awesome

D Series all the way! Check my sig...
DrDseries, I too started a fastest festiva build using a D series. But during my build my buddy helping my passed away, the Fabricator I had helping lost his shop, and I lost my job, then had to put it on the back burner for a while, lost interest, bought a CRX, put the setup in it.
Its not hard to make a Festiva go 10's.
What is hard is making a festiva go 10's with Mazda parts lol.

Can all ways try it if don't like it take it off and put stock back on. Looks like it would work fine. To me looks like just taking the sway bar and making it adjustable and a more square design instead of a half oval and non adjustable(imo). So i think would be fine but i am no expert and looked like something cool to try that why i asked.

why would you need lateral bracing? the lower control arm keeps the wheel from going inside and out the tie rod keeps it straight and the link keeps it from going forward and back. its still maing a triangle your just replacing the weak and flimsy setup with something designed for power. If it doesnt provide what you need modify a honda swaybar for the car as they go behind the suspension and not in front. I would run this on the street all day evey day.Last edited by Dr_Dseries; 10-14-2010, 08:15 PM.

Those aren't sway bars... they're traction bars. I personally wouldn't run them on the street, but that's just me. The only way I'd run them would be with some lateral bracing either at the control arms or at the front. It's fine for drag racing... you don't worry about turning.

This sounds like a claim made by a previous person who never came through...Not doubting you, just saying.Originally posted by Dr_Dseries View Post. yeah they work great on EF civics and they have the most similar suspension setup to these with just one lower control arm.
