I dont think anybody will get much faster until someone puts these on their car. You can do only so much with differentials and control arms. The weight transfer is the enemy. These will keep some of the weight on the front wheels

with the light weight of our Festy's, I think the traction bars are needed to go faster and keep the front wheels down on the pavement

I have not seen a festiva yet that would need wheelie bars, i agree they would help, but i just dont think they have been needed by anyone yet

Well...to get past 12's you will need them! Of course your car will be heavier with a V6 in it, but take a realistic look at what its takes to get that fast.
I used to race muscle cars, it took quite a bit to get them past that.
Put 400+ HP under a Festiva and it spins the tires, cannot keep grip.
WEIGHT TRANSFER means the weight is going to the rear wheels. Something needs to keep the weight on the front wheels.
Also the wheelie/traction bars can be removable for the street.
The short wheelbase of Festiva's is working against it too.

                      Speed talk

Dan, thats some good advice and good research on you tube, always good to see the practical use of wheelie bars in the case of FWD cars, any down ward motion at the rear of a FWD car is wasted time and the only way to prove this, is in the 60' times with and without the bars, also the reaction times should improve with the bars. There are a couple cars on this site that i think could benefit from the bars, and in my opinion 4 to 6 tenths would be realistic , the next question is how much are you willing to spend on a set of chrome molly bars.

Beleive me, i'm not saying wheelie bars is a bad idea, i know they are very helpful, and if i reach 400+hp i may just look into a set  but that could be a while yet

haha on the wheelie bars. realistically, nobody here makes the power to need them. the biggest thing is nobody spends the money to build a nice setup in a festiva. the wheel size limitations, the traction, the tranny issues.. alot of issues with higher hp and getting it to the ground in a festiva..a stiff spring on some stiff struts will be good enough for any car wanting to drag race. itll keep the rear from squatting and the front end planted.
