  • First kill of the season

Yesterday morning I decided to drive my festiva to work, leaving the town where I pick my brother up from the was a newer Monte Carlo SS following me, keeping distance and was not tailgating me at all, so as we get out of town I floored it getting into the 80kmh (50mph) zone but I let off around 100kmh (60mph) which is my normal cruising speed, get down the road a bit and the Monte Carlo passes me (I didn't try to stop him from passing) but then basically matches my speed

So I knew further up the road we'd pass through another small town so I figured as we get out of the town on the other side where the speed limit goes back up I'd floor it and pass him, before we even get to the 80 zone the Monte floored it so of course so did I, it took no time catching him but at that point I was already going 140-150ish kmh (80-90ish mph) so I decided to back off since there was a bend coming up and I couldn't see if there was traffic to stop me from passing

So I kept patient and once it was clear for a long stretch I put it in 4th gear and went out to pass and the Monte floored it, keep in mind we were cruising along at 100-105 kmh, so once I hit about 160 kmh the Monte was easily 3 car lengths behind me :evil4:

I missed driving this thing, I'm so glad it's spring time

He probably thinks all festivas are that fast and there is something wrong with his car.

It's a MazdaFordnKia thing, and you will understand!

So, according to the always reliable :p Wikipedia it would have to have either a N/A / S/C 3.8L V6 with 200/240 hp and 225/280 ft-lb of torque or a 5.3L V8 with 303 hp and 323 ft-lb of torque. And....what!?! FRONT WHEEL DRIVE?? The V8 has got to be RWD...weird. Could you tell if it was FWD?

Whatever the case. N/A 2.5L vs any of the above...gotta love the lightweight Festiva!

there are lots of FWD V8's out there, some lincolon's, cadillac northstar's to name a few and yes the V8 SHO's are FWD as well, i see no problem with a FWD V8, hell i'm only 2 cyl. away from a V8
