  • First trackday video

This is my first track day. the video is only slightly edited, to shorten the front and back straight, and not bore you. The laps I was able to record were the first ever with my festi and were behind a pace car. by the end of the day the pace car cut us loose and as novices we were allowed to pass on the front straight. If you are building a car I encourage you to take it to the local track. you will alot. It's the most fun And the fastest you can drive with out getting a ticket or getting killed!

        SK. race tracks

        Here's a list of Sask. race tracks;http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks.../#PvOvalTracks

all you have to do is get involved.
p.s. my playsation GT steering wheel cost more than a full day on the race track, and real racing is a lot more fun than virtual!

Good work! I look forward to getting my festy out to Mission. Did you have any issues with your car, any breakages? Did you bring a trailer just in case?

                  mission track

My powertrain is stock and reliable! I only had to reajust my clutch linkage after I noticed some sliping.
and next time I'll use some racing break fluid not the STP crap I bled the system with the night before.

Dude! That looks like so much fun! You've totally got me wanting to do try this now

I've been to one local SCCA race in Charlotte and the best class to watch IMO was Showroom Stock. The car had to be completely stock (even the radio had to work) and you had to have a fire extinguisher.

What were the entry requirements? Are you part of a club or something or did you just show up with the entry fee and required equipment?

P.S. - AWESOME job on the video! :thumbright:

Timbits, that made me want to go go terrorize the small town of Pendleton. Your dash clock made you quicker! They say that it feels much faster than if you're watching it, so I bet it was the highway-home-rush dream come true! What RPM level did you shift into next gear? I noticed one curve where your tires spoke quite a bit. Maybe swing wide before the curve, keep the RPMS in mid-range, choose a low apex, and then get the pedal down on the exit. That should keep your speed up and save some tread.

Zanzer, I'm still trying to arrange for some (parking lot) track time for Spring FestivaL 2012...
