Most of the gt35r k20s are around 500hp depending on their boost level. There is no shame in losing a race with a 500hp civic.
I used to have a gt3076r on a k24 in my Honda element. It was a suv and it was still stupid fast at 17psi. It wouldn't have even been drivable if it weren't all wheel drive.

yeah, ive been for a ride in the 400hp civic (not sure on engine/turbo, all i know is he runs 26psi and the valvecover is the textured red paint) here in town (its the older late 80's boxy style) and its plain rediculous. There was zero traction and we were spinning clear through 3rd gear (on soft street tires granted) and into 4th at 120mph. I cant imagine how much harder it is for a festiva at similar power levels to try and hook up, i guess ill have to wait and see

99 miata head, forged rods, pistons, oil pump, m factory diff, 1200cc injectors for E85, holset hx35 or 40, slicks. just need to replace the trannies more often. i can get a pretty reliable 500 whp out of that. well the engine will be reliable. i know cause thats what my friends miata had on it. well he had a china charger t3/t4 .70 a/r turbo which i believe is less efficient than a holset. he pulled a new ZR1 vette by 5 cars from a freeway pull on street tires and was trapping 127mph in the 1/4 mile
I know its a piece of crap but im still faster...and its 100% legal!!!!!

Looking forward to more success stories out of you. I'm jealous of everything except breaking transmissions. Go get 'em!

To be clear I'm impressed with / jealous of all of the builders here with fast festivas.

I just have to say im seriously impressed with mr fastiva above. I have nowhere near the patience to constantly replace transmissions like he does. You know what the definition of insanity is right?

After the first 2 transmissions ill probably go crazy, sell my FWD junk and go straight to a mid-mounted fully built/boosted v6 mounted to the biggest rock solid trans i can stuff under the rear of it. And then when i still cant get traction my head will explode out of sheer frustration.

you cant compare a car like that civic to a fesiva bulit with jy parts..... There are lots of people in south america that drag race 323's running way more hp and tire than us..

someone needs to drop serious money into a festiva... not like 5k like 20+k

its gets old after a while. if i had a jig of some sort id definitely redo my front frame rails to try an mr2 turbo trans. this one is about to go cause the diff locked up the other day so i launched it hard to unstick it... seems to be goin good so far...lol

for this reason im adapting a mustang T5 trans to a BP bell housing when i build my '72 spitfire BP+T. one car that blows out tranny parts is enough for me.

What are the advantages of the miata head, and are you going with all aftermarket forged stuff I assume? I'm currently building a blowthrough setup on my camaro with an HX35 and it's going to look ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE in your engine bay!! That thing is seriously going to be an absolute handful which I'm sure it already is. Are there any in car videos of your car floating around? I'd love to see how it pulls, who knows it might make me abandon the camaro Haha. I rode in gauge half inch's t25 b6 car today and I can say it seriously impressed me, with a junk clutch it was still fighting for traction in third. First and second were useless.

the 99-00 miata head flows way more than the bp-05 head.

..... exactly that's absolutely nothing, there is probably more money in the turbo+exhaust manifold alone on that civic u raced.

Ill be done my CFA in 2 more years, than i will have all the money to blow on a festiva, but until now its a b5zt for me
