Nice video! Those guys drive almost as aggressively as I do in my Advance Auto delivery car (a 2012 Chevy Sonic). Which I begrudgingly like, except for poor rear visibility.

Think I saw the Festy in there for a second. Why didn't it win? Some unknown schmuck in a Fiesta won, it seems.

I wonder if the general public will now mistakenly start calling the Fiestas Festivas?

I know its still in its "grass roots" in the USA but it would be nice to see more attend. Oh yeah, they'd rather watch racers drive in circles.Cry thats its raining. And then watch a clown drive into the track drying truck for the 1/2 time show. :nono: Yippie aint this fun BOYS !!! How Bout No....
Rally Racing is real racing. All others are just a wet dream.

^ I agree, having worked for both NASCAR and different rally teams, NASCAR is a dog and pony show. But then again, real racing will never be more televised than Rally is today in the U.S. . Commercial interest is the reason that any racing gets televised, and it's also the reason racing becomes more of an infomercial than a sport. Thanks to the amazing cinematography skills of Ken Block's dream team, lots of people are half heartedly interested in the WRC, and even local rally racing. UNFORTUNATELY, these videos are products of Hollywood style dramatized car chases, and do not depict real world racing. This turns people off when they watch real racing and it doesn't look as extreme. Real racing isn't about standing around watching, or watching on T.V. or the internet. I had an S.C.C.A. pro forest rally poster on my wall as a kid, and it said it best, "REAL PEOPLE, DRIVING REAL CARS, GOING REAL FAST!" Lol. That sums it up.
real racing is racing that anyone can do, and anyone can be part of. That scmuck in the Fiesta who keeps winning is a friend of mine, I can verify that he's a really nice guy who is a regular person and not an actor who is paid by sponsors to do what he does, he does it because he loves it. Even his wife has her rally license, and did before they met!
Sorry for the rant, racing is a big part of my life.

^ No problem Advanced, enjoyed your rant. I really dont dislike Nascrap as much as it may seem. I know its much more difficult than a lot of people think. But its just sooooo one dimensional. Give me some off camber turns, some switch backs, jumps. Thats more my style.

Seeing as the wheels are stock on this car, the springs are sagged, and it even has 4 mud flaps, it is likely a 'budget' entry with little chance of placing. Probably was on someone's front lawn with a for sale sign the week before.
However kudos to the driver for participating.

Yeah, now those guys will know it was you and it sounds like you are already learning some upgrades you can do to the car since becoming a member.

Here's the one photo I took of the car that weekend. Regrettably it was before I was really into Festivas. At the time I just remember laughing to a buddy and going, "Hey look, someone turned this Festiva into a rally car!"

It looks like he still has 12" tires. I wonder if he is forced to run those? That would be a huge disadvantage right there....but its awesome that someone has the stones to run a Festy!

It was a budget entry, we had a month to get it stripped and put a cage in it. Actually we had 4 weekends because when it wasn't running it was 100 miles away, but we made the trip every weekend to our welders house and just got the bare minimums into it. Now that we've had some time with it we've put 14's on it from a nissan and got some used hankook g71,51 rally tires on it.

The limit is dependent on the class your run. Right now the only mods are those wheels/tires, my brother (the driver) put a different air filter intake on it. The future things we are trying to do is:

                                1. Get the damn thing running, not sure whats wrong...
                                2. Aspire Swap
                                3. a rediculus spoiler on it
                                4. BP swap, if we can find one, otherwise the B6, or anything to replace our tired engine.
