You can get IC piping kits cheap on eBay. All aluminum.

Also I don't get the 12:1 fmu thing. Does that mean it ups the FP by 12 psi for every pound of boost? Wouldn't that be way too much? Most factory turbo setups I've seen increase FP by 1 psi per psi of boost.

just a thought greg if you ran aluminum pipe on EURO that would free up a good 25lbs from that heavy steel 2.5'' exhaust pipe.

Im sure you know that though.

Factory turbo setups are also tuned for boost, taking an NA setup and adding boost, the computer does know to dump more fuel cause the air flow exceeds the stock computers tune, that's the purpose of the FMU

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

So basically the 12:1 increase vs 1:1 is to compensate for the lack of a functional fuel map at that air flow rate?

It's simpler than that. It just forces more fuel the further into boost you go, by cutting off the fuel return. Physical tuning, and linear to boost reference

It's a dummy way of making injectors flow more than they are rated. It's been used in the mustang world for Years. There's also a need for an inline fuel pump to support the pressures. When mine had an fmu, I saw 140psi at the fuel rail under full boost.

Works awesome because it is cheap, reliable, and not real tunable, which keeps it simple. Also when your out of boost you have a stock ecu, with stock injectors, which imho is hard to beat for driveability

The stock fpr on 99%of cars are 1:1.

Didn't Dickmeyer say his afpr could be used for the same thing? I wonder how it compares.

It's 1:1. He said that too. It's not enough to compensate for adding a turbo on a factory tune. It works the same way but not to the same degree as a 12:1. You need the 12 with a stock PCM/flash when using boost levels higher than IIRC ~4-5psi. Someone mentioned it a long time ago. But whatever it was the stock PCM could compensate at LOW boost levels.
