Gotta love the required 1-2 short shift in a boosted festy. Cause we all know 1st is useless.
Though in the rain 1-3 and half of 4th is useless in mine...

I had a 2.4 3 speed auto caravan, arctic white, dual sliding doors. It would kick the tail of many of the V6 family vans.
I should never have let the insurance company take that one.. :/
I had some TSW 17" wheels paint matched with Z rated rubber, NEVER let off the gas.

That merge sign means you better have some powah to back up your cocky pass on right move yours planning. Dewinged turbo neon or 120 hp festiva doesn't care, im down to own diesel duallys, or town countries.

I had a caravan once. It was the business van. I put 8 people in it one time and raced a ford ranger and smoked him!! Haha that thing would rip wheels anywhere!!

Doesn't matter what age they are, you always gotta watch those chicks driving Chrysler town and countrys bro, they have NO mercy! :-p
(I can say that as I have a T&C and my fiancee drives it like a racevan..I had no idea they took curves that well!)Last edited by zoom zoom; 08-24-2012, 03:45 PM.

I was the victim of a violent street racethis morning. I was driving my 93 auto to work, when what appeared to be a 65-70 year old lady sped up so that I couldn't get in front of her while merging into the freeway at a blistering 45mph. It was difficult for me to recover my momentum, as this is the "danger zone" in the Festiva automatics power curve. Where are the cops when you need them? She should get the book thrown at her in her Chrysler town and country.

The cops out here allow gathering so they can isssue more citations. You also have people on forums ratting each other out, like subaru calling cops on vw, mustangs on srt4 and hondas and so on.

Wisconsin Statues: Chapter 346. Rules of the road.
346.94(2)
(2) Racing. No operator of a motor vehicle shall participate in any race or speed or endurance contest upon any highway.
The fine for this is $20-$400 for the first and subsequent convictions.
(2) No person may endanger the safety of any person or property by the negligent operation of a vehicle.
346.62(2m)
The fine is $20-$200, except if this is the second or more violation in a 4 year period from the first or initial violation, even if the consecutive violations are a matter of local laws (as opposed to state laws), in which case the fine for such conviction is $50-$500 and/or up to 1 year in jail.
And those are just the obvious things you can be charged with.
WI also has a "points" system, as far as I know, which could also mean license suspension and further costs associated with the first or repeat convictions, and I'm sure there are a few more charges they could dig up if the cop were not willing to give you a break, which is exactly what he did.
Also note that the term "race or contest" is not clearly defined, therefore could be construed to mean only one (singular) operator and vehicle combination, leading you into the same conundrum faced by PA and other states' speed junkies - that a contest needn't have a physical opponent.

Wow you guys are getting hit with 1,500 bills and jail time for street racing? I race my friends all the time and only one of us has even been caught. We were going over 90miles over the speed limit and all my friend got was a $280 ticket.

My cousin was killed along with two other people while watching an illegal, poorly organized drag race. Her name was Kate and she was 16 at the moment, this was in 2007.
I am also a noob here.

I remember "going out Woodward" on Friday and Sat nights back in the mid 50s and 60's up in Detroit. It was [still is actually] 4 lanes each way with a 50 yard median in a kinda rural area. The whole scene morphed into what is now the annual Woodward Dream Cruise weekend.
Back then you would cruise through one of several driveins and challenge someone or be challenged to run. Sometimes up to 4 cars would pull up abreast once we got out in the open, then slow down blocking following traffic until the road cleared ahead. We all would punch it from that slow roll when we saw someone hit it. I never heard of an accident but most of the cars weren't crazyfast like they are now. They say Delorean brought ought the first GTO he had cooked up at GM. The good old days.
