  • What is more humiliating than blowing your red Acura Intregra's engine?

[I][/IThe "]I didn't do anything wrong" disclaimer first. During the following I never put my engine over 3500 rpm or exceeded the speed limit. I may have gotten further along the road faster than the acura but that is all. Besides they started it and their engine was bad already.

I was driving Blue home tonight on a strange strip of road that is a small hill, a stop sign, sharp left turn on main road across railroad tracks then a sharp right. An Acura with three young guys pulled up behind me tight on the hill and was revving and flashing their lights. Since I know that strip well and couldn't resist playing with a red integra, I hit it a little harder than normal. They caught up about a tenth along and pulled next to me laughing. When they dropped in front of me the car gave a puff of nasty burnt smoke and I decided to play more. We came to a stop light that turned onto a four lane road with an uphill start stretch and I revved some behind them. My idlle gets funny and stalls sometimes if you dont rev it at stops. Really. I went next to them when the light turned and hit it hard again and passed uphill easy. They really hit it and when they passed me the car started spewing smoke that covered three lanes so bad I could barely see. Last I saw they were pulling into a side street very slowly.

What is more humiliating than blowing your red Acura Intregra's engine? Blowing it racing with a smurf blue festiva driven by an older woman! That poor driver will hear about this forever.

Now I have to wash Acura oil and carbon off my windshield tomorrow. It is nasty.

Any suggestions on how to explain this one to Dan aka Jiminy Cricket?

Suicide is the only way to describe what happened to that one. I have never seen an engine blow like that except on a track.

Also, Dan just laughed when I told him about it. He worked from 6pm Friday until 5am Saturday and I told him when got home at 5:30am. He was too tired to chew me out.
