Here is a short vid of me driving my festiva at pocono last weekend. I just need to work on the suspension and alignment a bit more to help keep the car from understeering so bad. I am on yokohama S drives 185-55-14.

Thanks
That track is not friendly to low HP cars. The front and back stretches really allow the high HP cars to gain a ton of ground. The silver RX-7 that passes me at about 2 min is able to get up to almost 150MPH on the back stretch.
I hope to hit one more track day this year with the car.
Here is a neat vid fron another car (camaro zl1) that was there that day, IIRC he was on either R comps or slicks.
8 min mark
You can see in the turns it takes a few turns for him the catch up, once I get on the straight he is gone.Last edited by RENESISFD; 09-06-2013, 04:20 PM.

I noticed how long it took for that 'Vette to pass you. 5-6min ahead of a Corvette while driving a motorized refrigerator sounds pretty awesome!
Though watching that second video shows me that 'Vette guy didn't want to dent anything. He took corners at like 20MPH o.OLast edited by Spike; 09-06-2013, 04:30 PM.White '92 GL 5-speed BP, G series, Aspire/Rio swapped, "Nancy"

I hope posting this link is not against forum rules. Here is a link to the thread on rx7club showing the purpose of that track day and why it is special. We raised $3200 for the JDRF.

First off, great job! Second, a little advice. Early apex! I know it feels wrong, bit try it, learn it, love it!. Turn in so early that you're putting your inside on the grass. If you brake late and apex early then that festiva will hug the inside and allow you to get on the gas earlier and drift under throttle out of the corners. I know this will feel strange, but trust me.the festiva is capable of holding lines that will toss other cars into the tire wall. Ease yourself into this style and don't look back! ( my rearview mirror always twists around too, so I know what you're dealing with, lol)
p.s. when your tires start getting loose, slow down! I spin hard every time my street compound tires get a little slippery. These cars aren't forgiving when it comes to tire fatigue.Last edited by Advancedynamix; 09-08-2013, 01:28 AM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Thanks for the advise, I will try an early apex next time I am on track. I have read your suspension thread and really appreciate your contributions to the community.
I really need to work on my rear shock setup to help get more weight transfer on the front tires.
Later sessions I was in second gear rather than third and I was experiencing inside tire spin when accelerating out of a turn.
