Are you still using the Rio transmission? How did it hold up? Better question, how did the wheel bearings hold up?? Loving the new look Fo' Sho.
We have never used Rio transmission - for the first race we used the stock transmission and it was a disaster (weird ratios & clutch slippage), after that we have upgraded to the G from an Escort GT - that's why the door hinge.

Front bearings are holding up well - we are on the same set since the custom spindle job and that was like five or six races ago. On the other hand, something constantly happens with the rear wheel bearings - this ones we have changed maybe couple times already.

My teammate has written down a story of all this at http://forums.24hoursoflemons.com/vi...php?pid=227193

I agree! Our (Russian and Mine) Festiva put down a top-10 lap time at Road America and was on-pace with, if not faster than, some the cars that finished on the podium. Our BP is essentially stock too, so with a few minor engine upgrades, a limited slip, a shorter track and an easier set of pedals to work with, I think I can get the times very close to fastest of the day.

With that said, an overall victory with a stock 10-gallon tank might be impossible unless you had a full field of really fast drivers.

Bill, your signature reveals too much! See how mine is not exactly reflecting the most current setup?

Best part is you licked a third gen to do it. That makes me smile because I ditched my third gen to buy my Festy.
I assume your team name is a SAIPA joke?

Yep, somehow not everyone is getting this reference so sometimes we have to explain. Before the body upgrade when the car was still red we had SAIPA logos all over it. I am waiting for the sanctions to be lifted so that I can put on a real SAIPA badge
